And Just like that
And just like that the cooler air has arrived.
It seems like we didn’t even leave this summer, but my family and I were in Greece embracing the beautiful sunshine, swimming many times a day, and enjoying the incredible fresh food. Coming home is always bitter sweet but the memories of early walks and swims with my husband play over in my mind leaving a smile on my face. True bliss.
While I am there, I always love to explore the fashion, the architecture, and get inspired by the european flair. My wardrobe that I brought to Greece consisted of minimal colour and basic linens. So what was I reaching for in the stores? Bright colours and bold patterns.
One evening I put on a pair of jean shorts with a black tank top and a pair of strappy sandals. Basic. So basic in fact that there were many others sporting the same look. Talk about wanting to go home and change. It reminded me of this moment while binge watching “And just like that” that I didn’t want to look like everyone else. How could I have worn it differently so that Stella stood out? Just like in the show, each of the 5 woman stood out individually and what they wore was so unique and reflected their personalities. Well done to the costume designers.
Trends come and go but your individuality is a constant. It’s awesome to get inspired by trends and other people but remember to add something that reflects you to your wardrobe. We sometimes get lost trying to keep up with what’s in style or what we see on our socials, but what shouldn’t get lost is our individuality. Add a fun broach to your top if that speaks to you, or add a purse that may have been a relatives that means something to you. Don’t worry about it not being “in style” it’s your style! You are representing yourself to others and you want that to speak volumes of you who you are. Be bold, don’t be afraid to be unique. Your style speaks a lot about who you are. There is only one you.
